Hovering in the remnant and rehabilitated landscape of South-West Australia, this house continues the iph investigations of Jekyll and Hyde relationships to place. To the street fragments of translucent polycarbonate are revealed between the trees, at night this transforms to exhibit abstract notions of everyday living. In contrast the beach side rejoices in its blatant connection to the distant view, every day holiday life is exposed to the wonder of the ocean environment with the architecture acting as an embracing, protective backdrop. The roof rakes and the floor steps to echo the natural site slope whilst articulating communal and intimate spaces. At ground level the house is absorbed in to the natural landscape, a subtle shadow that is perceived as though it does not exist.
